Online psychologist for Depersonalisation and Derealisation
Please note: our sessions are held in Italian only.
Depersonalisation is the feeling of being detached from oneself ('observing myself from the outside'), while derealisation is the feeling that the world is unreal or foggy. These are frightening but not dangerous experiences, and they respond well to psychotherapy.
Signs not to ignore
- Feeling as if you are outside your own body or watching yourself
- Perceiving the world as foggy, flat, or unreal
- A sense of strangeness toward your own body or emotions
- Anxiety and fear regarding these symptoms, leading to constant self-monitoring
How online therapy can help
The first step is understanding that you are not 'going mad': depersonalisation is a defence mechanism. Therapy helps reduce anxious attention to the symptoms and return to the present.
